Devices for closure of gastrointestinal defects must be rapid, easy to use, and effective. The double tissue approach clip has three arms; a center post and two arms that can operate independently to approximate edges, apply traction and release the clip. The DAT can be used to close defects or to approximate tissue margins and hold them in place while other clips are placed through the endoscope to further secure closure.
