Integra® Dermal Regeneration Matrix is an advanced dual-layer matrix for dermal regeneration. The dermal replacement layer, composed of a three-dimensional porous matrix containing bovine tendon collagen and chondroitin-6-sulfate, is designed with controlled porosity and a defined rate of degradation and promotes wound healing in a single application. The temporal epidermal layer is made of synthetic polysiloxane (silicone). The semi-permeable silicone membrane controls water vapor loss, provides a flexible adherent coating for the wound surface and adds greater tear resistance to the product. The Integra Matrix is indicated for post-debridement treatment of full-thickness and partial-thickness lesions when sufficient autograft is not available at the time of debridement or is not desirable due to the patient's physiological condition. The Integra Matrix is also indicated for use in the postdebridement reconstruction of full thickness integument defects when, in the opinion of the treating surgeon, there is a potential benefit to the patient of improving the reconstructive outcome or decreasing mortality/morbidity.
