Your choice of sealant is important. DuraSeal® Exact is the spinal sealant that strengthens your repair and supports the body's natural healing process. With demonstrated superior tissue adhesion compared to fibrin glue, DuraSeal Exact is designed for adequate strength and optimal durability for the tightest confines and highest pressures of the spine.
DuraSeal Exact is indicated as an adjunct to sutured dural repair during spinal surgery to provide a tight closure. It is a polymer composed of two solutions, a polyethylene glycol ester (PEG) solution and a trilysine amine solution. When mixed, these precursors cross-link to form a hydrogel sealant that creates a quick and effective airtight seal that lasts both during the operation and during the critical healing period.
Explosion resistance
The DuraSeal® Xact System offers tissue adhesion and cohesive strength characteristics to withstand critical CSF pressures during spinal procedures.
Biocompatibility
The DuraSeal® Xact system is made of polyethylene glycol hydrogel (synthetic 100% inert material).
Resorption
DuraSeal® Xact hydrogel is resorbed after 9 to 12 weeks, providing enough time for the dura to heal properly after application.
Display
The blue dye provides and allows you to evaluate the coverage and thickness of the sealant.
Small spaces
Flexible, clog-free applicators compatible with the DuraSeal® Xact System allow access to hard-to-reach areas of the spine.
