Silgen® Silver Spray is an irrigation solution for wounds and surgical sites containing antimicrobial agents. It is made with colloidal silver in ultrapure water. It has more than 30 ppm of silver. It has been shown to start working in as little as 5 minutes, be effective within 30 minutes and have a 4 log reduction in bacterial load within 4 hours, enough to kill most bacteria and fungi (Ps aeruginosa, K. pneumoniae, E.coli, St epidermidis, St aureus, E. faecalis, Candida albicans).
Silver spray can be dispensed into a wound, without the need for a specific dressing (impregnated with silver).
