SurgiMend® PRS is an optimal acellular biological matrix designed specifically for plastic and reconstructive surgery. Derived from bovine fetal dermis, SurgiMend PRS is composed of type I and type III collagen; and is free of preservatives, denatured proteins, artificial chemical cross-links, cells, lipids, carbohydrates and other components, all of which can induce inflammation. As a result, SurgiMend PRS does not provoke a harmful foreign body inflammatory response upon implantation.
SurgiMend PRS is designed to be implanted for the purpose of strengthening soft tissues where there is weakness in patients requiring soft tissue repair or reinforcement in plastic and reconstructive surgery, including breast reconstruction.
